Skirt! is licensed exclusively in Atlanta by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (www.ajc.com), a division of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises, Inc. (www.coxenterprises.com) with Morris Publishing Group, LLC of Augusta, Ga., which owns the Skirt! brand.

Publisher Nikki Hardin founded Skirt! in 1994 in Charleston, S.C. The Atlanta edition is under the editorial direction of Editor Stephanie Davis, a native Atlantan, who returns to her hometown after holding editorial positions at GQ and Self magazines in New York City.

Where:

Skirt! can be found throughout metro Atlanta at restaurants, retail locations, entertainment venues, street stands and other public places. The initial Atlanta distribution is around 100,000 and expected to increase as the magazine grows in popularity.

Skirt! was founded as a monthly magazine for women in the Charleston and Columbia areas of South Carolina. The publication has more than tripled in size and, in addition to Atlanta, Charleston and Columbia, can be found in Augusta and Savannah, Ga., Charlotte, N.C. and Jacksonville, Fla.

To celebrate the Atlanta debut, large and small retailers from across the city took part in a special “wo-mannequin” promotion to design and display the most creative skirt. These skirts are featured on the magazine’s Atlanta Web site – www.skirtatl.com – where visitors cast their votes for their favorite skirts. One voter’s name will be randomly selected on May 2 to win a $1,000 shopping spree. The wo-mannequins will be on display at a private magazine launch party in Atlanta on Tuesday, May 2, at the Globe restaurant.
